KATI WILHELM, German Olympic Biathlete
“I can do anything if I believe in me.”

The message in these words is truly an inspired one. Kati wrote these words expressing what she learned about her phenomenally successful 2002 Salt Lake Olympic Games. To read the entire letter.

Today, we venture beyond the confines of United States Olympics and head to Germany where we meet the biathlete they call Little Red Riding Hood – Kati Wilhelm.

Kati’s event, the biathlon, is a combination of cross country skiing and rifle shooting. Kati made her mark in the 2002 Salt Lake Olympic Games where she won three medals, two golds and a silver.

She wrote today’s words to express what she learned about herself after participating in those 2002 Games – I can do anything if I believe in me.

These words are about as inspiring as they get. They provide access to the realm of possibility. That realm where our every dream can be fulfilled, where accomplishments of a lifetime become real.

Now, the promise of Kati’s words comes with an extremely big prerequisite – to accomplish the ‘anything’ requires that we first believe in ourselves.

It is beyond the scope of today’s Real Zeal to tell you how to believe in yourself. That is work for you and you alone. But what is intended with today’s message is that you leave no stone unturned, you do whatever it takes, to become someone who believes in YOU.

To learn more about this inspired Olympic athlete and to watch a musical tribute that honors her, please read on.

More about Kati …

She followed in her sister’s footsteps, becoming a cross country skier. In this single sport, she was only mediocre. But once she saw the biathlon competitions, she knew she’d found her niche. Her three Olympic Golds speak for themselves – this is her sport.

She chose red as her representative color, because it was her favorite and because it represented speed. Consequently, she died her hair red and wears a red cap, gloves and boots when she competes. Her German fans have given her the nickname Rottkaeppchen or “Little Red Riding Hood.”

She is a sergeant in the German Armed Forces.

Second, here is a link to the Olympic Biathlete Schedule for the events in which Kati will be competing. Kati has acknowledged that this will be her last Olympics, so if you want to see this unique event with one of the best ever athletes performing in it, now is the time to watch.

Third, I’ve included a link to a musical video tribute honoring Kati and her phenomenal success.
